Acceptable use

What may be built and stored on Typestate, and how to report illegal content. As of 28 September 2026.

These rules are part of the terms. The German version governs.

What you may build

Any backend and any website that is lawful and fits your plan. All customers share the address ranges typestate.dev and typestate.live and the infrastructure behind them. Abuse by one customer can therefore affect everybody, and that is what the following rules are for.

What is not allowed

You may not use Typestate to

  1. store, offer or distribute illegal content, in particular depictions of child sexual abuse, incitement to hatred, terrorist propaganda, or content that infringes the rights of others;
  2. run phishing, malware, spam or fraudulent offers, or collect access credentials under false pretences;
  3. attack, spy on or overload the platform, other customers or third parties, or circumvent security measures;
  4. process personal data without a legal basis, in particular special categories under Article 9 GDPR;
  5. carry out a practice prohibited by Article 5 of the AI Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, for example social scoring or manipulation that harms people;
  6. circumvent the limits of the plan, for example through several free accounts.

How to report illegal content

Anyone can report to us content they consider illegal (Article 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, Digital Services Act). Write to hello@typestate.com with the subject "Report" and state:

  • the exact address of the content (URL);
  • why you consider it illegal;
  • your name and email address, except for depictions of child sexual abuse;
  • that you act in good faith and that your details are correct and complete.

We confirm receipt, review the report promptly and carefully, and tell you our decision.

What we do in case of a breach

(1) Where there are concrete indications of a breach, we may block individual backends, websites or the account. We choose the mildest measure that ends the breach.

(2) We tell the customer about every block and give reasons (Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065): what is blocked, for how long, which facts we rely on, which rule or law is breached, whether the decision was taken by automated means, and how the customer can object.

(3) The customer can object by email to hello@typestate.com. We review the objection and lift the block as soon as the reason no longer applies.

(4) Where there is a suspicion of a criminal offence that threatens the life or safety of persons, we inform the competent authorities (Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065).

Contact point

Our single contact point for authorities and users under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 is hello@typestate.com. You can write to us in German or English.
